　新ドメイン(新gTLD)「.moe」、「.osaka」、「.earth」(2015年内開始予定)を運営する、インターネットサービスプロバイダーの株式会社インターリンク（東京都豊島区、代表取締役:横山正、以下インターリンク）は、ドメイン取得サービス「ゴンベエドメイン」にて、新ドメイン 「.lol」の一般登録受付を開始致しました。「lol」は「laugh out loud」の略で、日本では「(笑)」「w」の意味に近いとされています。ちなみに「LMFAO(laughing my fucking ass off)」は「爆笑」「糞ワロタ」、ROFL (Rolling On the Floor Laughing)は「大爆笑」「大草原」、以上のような意味合いで使用されるネットスラングです。現在のところ「LMFAO」と「ROFL」は、新ドメインとして提供される予定はありません。

　「.lol」は、インターリンクが2009年に開催した「ワールドドメインカップ」で、第11位に選ばれた「ネットユーザーが使ってみたい新ドメイン」でもあります。申請にあたって、笑えるかどうかの審査や取得条件はありません。法人、個人も問わず申請が可能です。今後リリースされる新ドメインも順次追加して参ります。ご期待ください。
